Profile:
Wang Lian, a native of Rugao, Jiangsu Province, was admitted to the Department of International Politics at Peking University in 1986, majoring in International Politics. After completing his graduate studies in 1993, he stayed at the university to teach.
In 1997 and 2000, he pursued further studies and visited Tel Aviv University in Israel and Seikei University in Japan, respectively. From 2006 to 2007, he taught at Niigata University in Japan, focusing on Chinese politics and diplomacy. During the spring semesters of 2014 and 2024, he taught at Shihezi University, Xinjiang, covering courses such as Contemporary World Political Economy and International Relations, Special Studies on Nationality Politics, and Introduction to International Politics.
From 1993 to 1997, he served as the class advisor for the undergraduate class of 1992; from 2012 to 2016, he was the class advisor for the undergraduate class of 2012.
