On April 23, 2026, a delegation of 13 international program students from the School of International Studies was invited to attend the 2026 Beijing International Sustainability Conference, hosted by the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Foundation at the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB). The Beijing International Sustainability Conference serves as a high-level platform established in response to the global trend toward unified sustainability disclosure standards, fostering an open space for stakeholders from various countries and regions to deepen their understanding of the ISSB Standards. Each year, experts and guests from related fields around the world participate in the conference exchanges.
During the conference, the student delegation engaged in discussions with representatives from international organizations, executives of Fortune Global 500 companies, and numerous academic experts, exploring the adoption and implementation status of the ISSB Standards in promoting sustainable development across different sectors.
The participating students remarked that attending the conference helped them better understand how international regimes drive the integration of sustainability principles into national fiscal policies, and to understand China’s efforts in international multilateral functional cooperation. This visit also served as a valuable supplement to the school’s daily teaching and learning activities.
